Next week’s Night at the State Library features Gary Kurutz, CSL’s Curator of Special Collections, and the Foundations Executive Director. He will regale attendees with tales of California’s pivotal admission to the Union 165 years ago, including Southern California’s attempt to break away from the north. It is sure to be an entertaining evening! Rare items from the California History Collection will be on display.
The event will be held in Room 500 of the historic Library and Courts Building at 914 Capitol Avenue. Doors open at 5:30 pm. The event is FREE but invitations are required to get in.
