Dear California: Alfred Eichler’s Golden State

April 12, 2021

Who is Alfred Eichler? The story of Eichler is one worth listening to. A story of a Deaf architect during the 1930s whose art and designs not only brought to life our Golden State, but who persevered during a time where Deafness was seen as a disability. He helped design and bring to life so many beautiful California scenes including one that is near and dear to all from Sacramento, the Tower Bridge! Come listen to Bruce Marwick from the Sacramento Art Deco Society and James Scott from the Sacramento Public Library as they paint the picture of Eichler and his genius for the fourth installment of Dear California.
